The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) in the United States is calling for industry participation to monitor wholesale prices of HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) refrigerants. This initiative is part of the phasedown mandated by the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act, which requires a reduction in HFC consumption and production allowances—from 90% currently to 60% as of January 1, 2024.
To better understand the market impact of this reduction, EIA is collecting aggregated data for general trend analysis. Individual company responses and pricing information are kept strictly confidential, with only anonymized and compiled data being shared publicly.
This is a voluntary monthly survey, and U.S. refrigerant wholesalers are encouraged to participate.
